Filezilla server help?

Basically i just started getting into this and i'm installing filezilla, and i can't get it setup to transfer files from my brothers laptop to mine, i've installed filezilla on both, the two comp's aren't in the same house, i used logmein to get filezilla on his laptop.

I was just wondering if someone could give me step by step instructions on how to get this set up i've tried to set this up for more than 2 hours searchn for sites i can't figure it out

blackonblack2, welcome to PC-Mechanic, are you useing the default FTP port(21) if so, and you have a residential internet connection, most ISP's block port 21 so a server cannot be run, however If you use a different port it should work. Also if you have a router make sure to forward the port to the computer (IP address)

If you spend the 70 bucks a year for Pro, logmein can transfer files. You want something free that doesn't require forwarding ports? Use AIM or another IM program that has file transfer, if you want to do this when he isn't around, use logmein free to run his AIM.

Did you install the filezilla server on one pc? On of them has to host a filezilla server and the other has to connect using a ftp client or a web browser.
