Question Firefox Question?

On my computer I have windows xp with Firefox and IE7. Even though I set Firefox to default when I click on a link it still opens IE7. Is there a way I can make Firefox the truly default browser. Thanks for your help.

Thread moved to more specific forum.

Amdalex, give this a try. Go to Tools > Options in Firefox. On the 'main' tab, towards the bottom, there is checkbox which allows Firefox to constantly check if it is the default browser. If IE7 'steals' default back somehow, Firefox will prompt you to switch back. There's also a 'check now' button for you to do this manually.

Note that some links will always open in Internet Explorer. Couple of examples are Windows Update, and the link to check your Hotmail from within Windows / MSN messenger.

And if you're only trying to set it as default through Firefox, you can always try the Start menu way. Go to the Start menu and click on "Set Program Access and Defaults". Drop down the "Custom" menu and put the tic mark beside Mozilla Firefox under the default browser section.
