MS Outlook 2003 Hotlink disabled?

I am using MS Outlook 2003 on an XP Media Center PC (HP Pavilion Laptop). At some point I changed something from the default on Outlook 2003 and my hot link (click on a link within an e mail) displays this:

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

I know this is easy to enable hot links again on this e mail package. How do I do this?

PS: I am the only user on this computer and never knowingly set any administrator priviledges.

Problem: hotlinks don't work within Outlook 2003.

Do you have any browser set to be the default browser? If a default isn't set, Outlook doesn't know what to use to open hyperlinks. So make sure you've got a default browser first. If that doesn't help, check out the fixes here.

Well, I changed some default settings and now they work. I tried changing Firefox to the default, restarted Firefox, and the link did not work from Outlook 2003. I then changed my default to IE 7, tried the link, and it worked perfectly.

So the question:

How do I use this hotlink feature AND Firefox?

It might be worth trying to set Firefox as the default browser again. As well as setting the option in the browser, also use the 'Set Program Access and Defaults' options (shortcut in the Start Menu).
