How do you tell the difference between a hard and soft modem, as I bought and I paid a bit more for this modem, thinking it to be a hard modem. I asked for an hard modem because I was assumming these to be better because my processor is only a cyrix PR 200 and thought this modem help my struggling machine

Without knowing the brand of modem and the model the following applies:
If it external, its a hard modem if its internal and uses an isa slot, its a hard modem. if its internal and uses a pci slot its more than likely a soft modem, there are very few pci based hardware modems. ------------------ Hmmmm, Never saw that happen before. |
