Hi all. I can no longer get to secure pages. For instance, when I surf to www.hotmail.com, I can get that page up, but the login takes me to the "cannot find server" error page. This happens no matter which site I visit, even my bank.
For a while, I couldn't get to Internet Options nor Control Panel Add/Remove Programs, either. I figured out that I had run a program called Warlock last weekend (looking for ways to keep the kids' habits under some control), and that Warlock makes changes which stick even when it isn't running. I fixed all those, but I still can't seem to pass SSL pages. Any ideas? Does Warlock do something to stop me accessing secure pages? Thanks Chris |

From the sound of it I doubt this applies to your situation, but there is documented issue with MS Internet Information Server 3 and MS Proxy Server 4. A delay caused by IIS causes Proxy to timeout when accessing a page through SSL. Installing the service pack 2 for proxy server will fix the problem.
I do have a problem with some sites on my own computer that I havn't been able to track down. However, I often have problems accessing Hotmail and other secured sites with IE. Netscape doesn't have a problem with them ... go figure. ------------------ Josh joshmu@aracnet.com *------------------------* Suggestions Only, Not responsible for damage caused by following my Suggestions. http://www.alladvantage.com/go.asp?refid=EAX491 |
