Excuse me? No uninstall?
Have you looked in control panel, Add/Remove?
It may be listed as IE5.01 and tools or somesuch.
Try it.

Try going to the 'Windows Update' from your tools menu. Click on products update when you are at the site, then choose to 'Show All Installed Components'. Then you will get the uninstall option.

I'd wait a few more days to see if they release it and you should be able to update it.

If you're running Win98 have you tried Start>Run, type msinfo32. On the Tools menu choose Internet Explorer Repair Tool.
or

Go to Start>Run, and type in rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance

As RayH said IE is welded to windows now by Microsoft, but there is an alternative. Using 98lite (which works with mill.) you can unweld it and install what you want. 98lite is one of the greatest programs to arrive for windows.

I am using IE Beta5.5, and I have had absolutely no problems with it. I can also unistall it should I ever want to. It is faster, better, and much more reliable than Netscrap 6.0.
