Angry Keeping the media players straight

I down loaded Real Player because the site I needed didn't use WM. It became my default player, not a bad deal, it covered all the sites WM used and more but now I've found its limits. What happens if I download QuickTime? It covers the other sites I need but not many of the sites that use Real Player. Is this another take-over?
I'd like to be able to use the media players without being strongarmed. How do I do this?
Thanks in advance

Just go to the Options or Properties for each player and check the types of files you wnat it to use. In Real Player be sure and uncheck the AUTOMATICALLY Reclaim Media Types box.
Another really good free player is at the link below.
