Is there a existing internet service like this?

hello,

is there a 'internet service' like this. Example, i need to download a big file about 400Mb. Then i tell another 'website' to 'please create a mirror of the file to their website/server. Then later i'll download it using 'DSL' from 'them'. I need this kind of service because the source keeps getting broken file and it is very slow. Also the 'DSL' is only available at certain times of the day only (usually midnight). Its not filesharing but rather 'file mirroring' but without the problems like slow /broken file. Lastly, i hope its free

wbr,

you probably wanted an "Unix Shell Access" account. depends on the ISP, some do provide this service for an extra $5.0 or so.
you do have to know how to use "command line interface" and UNIX commands.
for example:
you can download a file in the "background with the '&' " and then logs-off; the computer will finish download and save the file in a "folder/directory". you then can retrieve that file at a later time.
sorry, it aint free, though.

thanks for reply, it seems i'll just ask my friend to download it for me and upload it somewhere else (rapidshare, megaupload etc). Its nice that such service do exist but im not very familiar with unix , another problem is that some download requires me to use a usb smartcard key, w/c limits the download only to me and not to anyone else.

wbr,
