IE 6 Closes when clicking link
I still have to use IE 6 due compatibility issues with some programs. Whenever I go to certain sites such as ABC.com and click on links within the site, the browser window will automatically close. I suspected a corrupt IE file, but this is not a problem when logged in as another user. Has anyone had this issue or know the cause of the problem?

You are probably in the wrong forum, but try doing a HiJackThis log. Also try checking the page in Mozilla. You can always do a Windows restore. That should help.

Sounds like a Malware infection. What programs do you use to scan for problems? I'd recommend scanning with Adaware SE and Spybot - Search and Destroy for starters. If you plan to use HJT, please read the Sticky thread in the Security forums and follow the advice there before posting a log.

thanks for your replies
I didn't think of malware. I will go ahead and perform virus/malware scans with all the usual tools. |
