I have acrobat reader installed on my system and it appears to work fine with one exception. Whenever I am in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and click on an *.pdf file I get a blank screen. I checked all of the settings and cannot find anything unusual.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

Sometimes the pdf's are so big they show a blank screen until the file has downloaded, assuming you are downloading em

You're right nutrocker. However, in my situation there is a blank screen all the time independent of the file size.

Start Acrobat Reader before you click on the .PDF file in your browser. Now try clicking the file.

I have had success when this has happened to me in the past by right clicking on the file and save target as. Save it to the desktop, open it from there and delete it if you do not want to actually keep it. If you have already tried that then nevermind...

Thank you all for your suggestions. They have helped me to find a way that works. However, it is not optimal. In the Acrobat reader > preferences > General I have unchecked web browser integration. When I now click on an *.pdf file while browsing, I have the option of saving it to disk or opening it from the current location. This works OK except that if the *.pdf file is large it takes a long time to open it. With web browser integration the *.pdf file would open one page at a time.

Any more suggestions are welcome.
