DLL files to read only?
I don't know if this is the right board..
Anyway... I have problems with firefox and keep getting this error: "This application has failed to start because... ( ).dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I saw this thread and I read there that the solution is to convert DLL files to read-only. How can I do that? |

Not sure why you'd want to do this...but if you find the dll file via Windows Explorer you can right click on ist - select Properties->Place a check mark in the Read Only box.

That is a terrible idea. Whenever you wanted to upgrade you would have to find those .dll's and change them, then do the upgrade and change them back.
I would liken this approach to taking a key to your front door and snapping it off in the lock. No one can get in including you until you dig that key out but it doesn't really make things that much more secure.
