Ok, i have a problem with my ADSL where the computer does not connect.
The service uses the PPPoE protocol, so i have an app that connects to the internet. The modem supports upto 2 computers through a hub, and thats how we have it setup, each computer just has to run the connecting app and they each get connected. One is running windows95, and the other 98. On 98, i use WinPoet for connecting, and in 95 i use the access manager software that comes with the service. On friday, i was connected, and then i restarted, and it wouldnt connect. I tried both the access manager software and WinPoet and neither would work. I downloaded and installed a VirtualCD program, then i restarted, but that shouldnt affect the internet. Thats the only thing that i did on the computer that messed with windows. The other computer still connects, so i know its not a problem with the service. I had linux on another hard drive in the win98 computer and linux was screwed up, so i reformated it and installed win98, and with the access manager software it will connect to the internet. I have run shopvac in win98 that doesnt connect, and it didnt help. I can access the other computer over the network, so i know the network is still working. Any ideas? Right now im going to try and delete all the network stuff and use a PPPoE driver that doesnt use an interface, just a pure driver. ------------------ -Charlie |

If you have 98 or Win2K, you can use RASPPPoE instead of Winpoet. Winpoet blows chunks.

That software freeware/shareware glc?
I'm getting nothing but blue screens and lockups from this SWBell PPPoE software, and the only other one I came across was WinPoet. Xayd |
