I connect to the Internet via cable modem (1.5 mbps). I can use Firefox as my primary browser with the cable modem, but when I try to use IE 6--which I need for Microsoft security updates--I can't load any webpages, and the connection defaults to an old dialup account I still keep in case the cable modem goes down.
How can I configure IE 6 to work OK with the cable modem? I'm running under W2K SP4. Thanks for any suggestions! |

Change the connection options to never dial a connection. In LAN settings, uncheck all boxes.
