html opinions, please
I am using these little "headers" to seperate sections on my pages and am trying to decide between:
(a) using width=75% (or the like) or (b) using width = 640 (actual # instead of a %). http://www.lust4lennon.com/index2.htm uses the % and http://www.lust4lennon.com/browserindex.htm uses the fixed lengths. Which would be the preferred method? Thanks |

Hi nightfishing,
I'm running at 1024x768 and they both look pretty much the same length. I would use the % because it would look better at bigger resolutions. If you set it to 640 then on bigger monitors you would be left with a bunch of blank space on the right side.

Use the % system. I'm running at 1600*1200, and the fixed length thing does not look good.

In your case, % would probably look the best. I usually use a fixed percentage for a table, when I have a center aligned table. On a left aligned table, I generally use a %. If you do use a fixed width, then use 720-760px. 640 won't do you much good, since you would still have horizontal scrolling at 640x480 and only about 1% of the people use that resoltion.
