has anyone ever heard of a sanbar server software I am looking for some type of software to where when I dial up to the internet I can host my own temp site is this possable just to where my friends can trade software and I can post stuff on it like files or something all and any help would be great

never heard of sanbar. But i have heard of warftpd and g6 --- they do the same job - letting u setup ur own site(ftp). But dont know how good it will be on a 56k modem.
and i dont think its legal to host a server on cable internet |

I used to work for a medium size ISP that used sanbar to manage the servers. I never took the time to see how it worked, but my understanding is it is free and it works well.

Why not just set up a personal web server on your machine and host your own site from your computer? There are plenty of them free for the downloading or you can just use microsoft's personal web server that comes with windows. Once you set it up you give your friends your IP address and then they can connect to your web page
