Try this on for size...
Okie,
See if you can follow this one. This problem involves 3 computers and Symantec pcAnywhere 12.1 (not the beta version, the full version). Computer 1 shall be referred to as HOST. HOST has Windows XP Pro. Computer 2 shall be referred to as NICE GUY. NICE GUY has Windows XP MCE. Computer 3 shall be referred to as REMOTE. REMOTE has Vista Home Premium. NICE GUY and REMOTE are both in my house, while HOST is in another province. NICE GUY and HOST have perfect connectivity between them, which is to say that they can both act as a remote or host to one another. NICE GUY and REMOTE also have perfect connectivity between them. REMOTE and HOST, however, don't get along. REMOTE cannot actually be a remote with HOST. The screen stays black upon connecting, and after a few seconds, REMOTE gets booted. How can I get REMOTE to connect with HOST? if you need a picture to make this easier to understand, I'll upload one. I'm sorry, I have no clue how to better explain this. All computers are running the exact same version of pcAnywhere, which was downloaded from the website as an .iso file. Guesses? Thoughts? Thanks in advance...this has been a headache with Symantec support.

Anybody? This is sorta business critical, it'd be awesome if someone had an idea. ANY idea will do. |

I'm debating as to whether or not this needs to be moved to "Hardware" on just the "Internet" section of "Software" (leaning heavily towards "Software".).
My software reasoning is that "something ain't telling something else", which means you skipped a few steps, but that's only surmise. Someone else will have to ask you, specifically, what you did/didn't do.

I'm not really sure what I could have missed. Both REMOTE and NICE GUY were set up side by side at the exact same time.

sounds like possible firewall issue. make certain any soft firewall is disabled on the HOST machine, thats all i can think of.
