Question Saving LAN Settings in IE 6

I have de-selected all the LAN Settings in my copy of IE 6 in order to display Web pages
accessed via my cable modem (768 kbps). Otherwise, Web pages don't display!

However, IE 6 resets these settings as selected every time I re-start IE 6.

Is there any way to keep these LAN Settings permanent?

I'm running under W2K.

Thanks for any suggestions....

Do you have any kind of webfilter installed or possibly Norton or McAfee Internet Security?

I have Ghostsurf, but I disable it before I start an IE 6 session.

I don't have any Norton suite program; I do have ZoneAlarm as a firewall.
