I went and enabled the feature that allows other computers to connect. But yet when I try to connect from an outside connection it dos nothing. I’m using the IP address that my computer gives me buy going to run / cmd / ipconfig. I just don’t see what I’m doing so wrong , Iv don this before but never got stuck on it like this.

What is the ip it gives you? If it is 192.168.x.x then that's the computer's internal ip. Google 'what is my ip' from the computer you're trying to connect to and find out what its external ip is.

On the computer you are trying to connect from outside your network, open a command prompt and enter:

telnet [your_ip_address] 3389

If the screen goes blank then everything is good and the problem is due to the remote desktop setup, otherwise if it says it cannot connect, you have something blocking the traffic.

In this case it is probably a firewall or port 3389 not being forwarded to the correct internal computer on your router.

This might help too:

I have always had bad luck using the Remote Desktop feature of XP. Download TightVNC or WinVNC both of those are superb and have never given me any problems.
