Website + email stop working, MSN+IRC fine

Occasionally my connection drops, but only for websites and email. IRC and MSN continue to work fine. Everything is resolved if I reboot my router. My router is a D-link DSL-G604T. Does anyone have _any_ idea as to how to solve this? I'm guessing my next question is going to be can you please recommend a good wireless ADSL router

Thanks in advance
Rupert

may not be your router, do you have a firewall? email and websites not working and chat programs working doesnt indicate a bad router. as you are connected fine for the chat programs to work.

usually this is due to the following:

1.) firewall blocking the email client or web browser, or not allowing it to be a server program.
2.) clash or multiple firewalls/antivirus software
3.) DNS issues (try flushing DNS or using open DNS) (does browsing work if you put a sites IPinstead of the web address?)
4.) viruses or spyware

rather thanresetting your router next time, turn off any firewalls see if that fixes it, or go to network connections and disable the connection, wait a ew seconds then reenable it, or simply repair the connection see if that resolves the issue.

It disconnects all 4 PCs on the network so I doubt it is an individual computer fault
