Disconnection problem

I am having a disconnection problem which is happening more and more frequently.

Sometimes when I try to go off line I get the message:

"It is not possible to disconnect at this time. The connection is currantly busy with a connect or disconnect operation." No matter how long I wait I have eventually to switch the computer off.

When I click the internet status button I get the message:- "Sent 0 packets. Received zero packets.

My provider's advanced site gives the following message:- "Dr Watson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close."

The Windows Task Manager states nothing active.

I run XP and IE7 and use a modem. Any clues??

virus or spyware

It could be a virus or spyware , try scanning your computer with norton or other antispyware softwares. Make sure that your anti-viruses and anti-spywares are updated and boot your computer in safe mode and then try scanning your computer with them.
