Is my modem dead or does my isp have a problem?

Last night I logged onto the internet using a DUN and my provider, vtsp. I use Opera and sometimes Firefox. I started with Opera last night and the web site that I requested started to load and then stopped. I tried another web site and it would not even start to load. I tried other web sites and the same thing happened....nothing. I then tried Firefox and nothing would load in it either.

I was still connected to the internet according to my tray icon (I don't remember what you call it) but I could not get anything to load. I shut the computer down and back on and turned off Zone Alarm but it still would not work. I even went into my Goback software and set my system back to where it was the previous day when everything worked but I still could not load any internet pages.

I do have a backup isp, Netzero (free version) that I will try tonight, but could it be my modem? As I said, it looks like I am logged on and I have to log off the internet but I just can't surf.
