I'm trying to put some MP3s of my band on the web. I put them on tripod and I know they are up there because I see them in the File Manager. But when I go to download them, tripod says that the server is not there or avalible. Please help. Here is the link http://jetblack69.tripod.com/sound.htm Click on any of the mp3s, they don't download off of any of my friend's computers either. If you want, you can see my site http://www.delayedreaxtion.com and look around too. Does Tripod not like mp3s or something? Maybe I need to buy the mp3 compatible modem .

LOL. I don't think the "MP3 compatible" modem would fix the problem. I wouldn't be surpried if Tripod is blocking tranfer of any file with an MP* extension, considering the events of late with Napster. I'd try another host.

you could rename the MP3 extension to something like 3pm and make a note to people to change it back. Yes it can confuse people but it should work....I agree the modem you speak of would not help...

You know byte, I was thinking the same thing, but I was afraid that my audience might not remember or see the insturctions to rename it back, but I'll try it. Thanks.

Well, I tried .3pm and I got a cool looking screen with a bunch of text. What other suffix would work?

tripod doesn't allow mp3s because they want to keep there services safe and also, people tie up all their servers downloading them and also storing them when it is free. also some people would consider the downloading of mp3s illegal because of the capability of burning them to a cd. the easiest way is to zip them and then upload them, that works.
