Hiding your email address

Is there a way to send an email and hide your address from the end receiver?

Sign up for another email account and send from there.

If you have relay access on the mail server, you could always "spoof" the header... but this action typically flags the resulting email as spam.
Showing you how do to this might violate the forum TOS though...

yeah i did wander wether or not the thread alone would violate rules. as it could be used for dodgy purposes.

Nah i have barely any privileges on this..As its the Outlook email account at my college. Though thinking about it, i dont know why i dont just use one of my Hotmail accounts.

Hopefully you are aware that sending through Hotmail or most other free services isn't quite anonymous as well .. headers can be viewed .. IPs can be traced .. ISPs can be subpoenaed. There are services that you can subscribe to that will suppress the headers and IPs but be sure that you will be logged.

Create an use a new Hotmail account from a public "Cyber-Cafe". Virtually untraceable.

i am having a hard time figuring out why anyone in the gen public would care if they were logged if they werent doing anything illegal.... if you dont want someone to reply back to the e-mail sent to them from a different account leave them a contact e-mail or as you said use your hotmail account... But if you want to send untraceable 'dirty' e-mails then yeah cyber cafe's are good

Maybe they just want to email someone a "subtle hint" anonymously.
I must admit the same thought has crossed my mind and one point...

What happened to the good ole days when a Louisville Slugger sent a subtle hint? its pretty bad when you have to rely more and more on MLB to make money

(disclaimer: i dont condone any violence that isnt deserved)
