SBC Yahoo dial in causes computer to freeze?

A friend of mine has SBC Yahoo, and when he clicks on the icon on the desktop to dial into SBC, the window opens with the connection information such as username and password. When you click connect, a window pops up saying connecting, but then the computer freezes...and the only way to restore it is with a hard reboot.

Any ideas?

Did this come with a software package? If so, he might want to try uninstalling, then reinstalling the program.

Yeah I figured that was an option, but I wanted to use that as a last resort defense, if it is even possible (if he has the software)
