firefox and internet explorer

Ok, why does this site I'm working on look fine in internet explorer and looks all screwed up in firefox?

I know that sometimes there can be small differences, but man, not this bad.

Probably because you've coded around bugs inherent to IE. Run it through an html validator and see what you get.
