Remote Login between XP and Vista

I have a system I need to remotly login to.
A laptop that has MS Vista (I forget the flavor) But I got it because it could telnet. and a system that has MS XP Pro. Can someone explain how I can telnet from one to the other please. What do I have to do on the systems to make this happen? What needs to be done on any internet settings to make it work.

Thanks
Steve

You need an expert but this thread can give you a good idea of what you need to do if you read through it carefully : http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...ghlight=telnet

Do you really mean telnet or just a remote connection? There isn't much that you can do via telnet.

My brothers system is Vista and I have XP. I need to access it remotely to look at it and run things when he can't.

Not sure what it's called but I want to take control of his system when I need to

Thanks

I'm having the same issue. Is there a patch or a work-around to overcome these drops?

Thanks in advance!

I don't mess with RDP or anything like that - I use the logmein.com service. Installation, configuration, and use is a no-brainer.
