sound quality and net2phone
When I'm on the internet and I need to make a phone call I like to use a software program called "net2phone" When I do it works just fine, but the sound on my end (what I'm hearing) is chopy. It cuts out, not quite all the way but pretty close. Both my modem and sound card support full duplex, however both are also kind of on the generic side. Oh yeah, I have a pretty good microphone too. What would be the main reason for this? The modem or the sound card. I have used this program on other computers with same type of setup and ISP and the sound quality is much better. Any ideas?

A few reasons why voice communications over the Internet may be poor:
- Inferior microphone - Inferior sound card (sometimes full-duplex doesn't work correctly) - Low system resources or slow CPU - Poor Internet connection (ie: Dial-up, net congestion, etc) << usually the main reason YMMV |
