Does this happen with a particular web site or all web sites?

What version of AOL? Also which version of Windows are you running?
Here's some info that may help you: http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q175/3/79.asp http://support.microsoft.com/support.../q169/7/47.asp

...don't know what version of IE you're runn'in but, I would try the latest version or maybe the repair option that you'll find in the control panel under add/remove programs when you go to uninstal IE. AOL has always had buggy software that is notorious for clashing with IE. Perhaps this will overwrite a possible corrupt dll. Could always try to reinstal the AOL, but I would try the above first.
