Web email

I recently opened up a gmail account, and want to do away with my old yahoo email. My question is, is there a way that I can transfer all my saved emails from my yahoo to my gmail without having to forward all of them (I have hundreds)?

I don't think there is, but figured I'd ask to see if anyone knows.

Thanks.

Use Gmail to access your Yahoo! Mail account. In other words, under Gmail settings, add your Yahoo! Account email address - that will send a confirmation email to your Y! email.

I don't think the Gmail option would work unless you are able access your Yahoo mail via POP3. This option is only available in Yahoo! PLUS for around $20 per year...

Even if you did access the yahoo account via POP3, which you can with the free version(requires a sort a separate POP3 emulator), you would still only get new messages not any old ones same with Kram's idea.

That I disagree with - at least for me, it loaded up all my old mail from my old inbox by default.

I see how Yahoo! does not allow POP3 by default and how that is a problem - that is probably your largest obstacle. I unfortunately did not see that, looking currently at my Y! settings.

I must admit, I've been extrememly lazy and still haven't tried that. Been busy trying to OC.

Once I do, I'll post back with the results.

I know this is an old thread, but I figured I'd post the solution for anyone else that was looking.

I used ypops to transfer all my yahoo email to my windows mail account.
