Microsoft 2003

I had to setup my e-mail account with Microsoft 2003 and my inbox was working fine but outgoing wasn’t. After I setup another account using all the same info just changing the type of server it was using it started working just fine. In other words there are two account that are the same , both active one using imap and one using pop3 . Can anyone perhaps tell why there would need to be two accounts active in order for my mail to work properly.

Guessing you mean Outlook 2003....

The accounts aren't the same if one is IMAP and the other POP3....I would just delete the first one that didn't work.

When it stops sending, are the mails stuck in the OutBox?

Are you getting any error messages that would have really important information in them? If so, post the error information.

Are you sitting at a location that uses Cox ISP? Or are you at another location with a different ISP?

Yes it is stuck in the outbox and it dos give an error . Ill try to post it as soon as i can because im not in front of that system right now. Also I am at the location of my isp witch is COX. And have the outgoing server set as they instructed smtp.east.cox.net , Ill try to get the error think posted ASAP , Thank you guys for looking in to this with me , Is this a common problem with other people because I think COX may have problems with there servers or someware along the line I feel like im getting blocked. I just cant explain why it works fine and stops.

Well I got the error

It says
*send test e-mail message ; the specified server was found, but there was no response from the server . please verify that the port and ssl information is correct. to access these settings close this dialog, then click more settings and click on the advanced tab.

*find outgoing mail server (smtp); outlook could not connect to the outgoing mail server (smtp). The problem could be the server name or port, or your server may not support ssl. Verify your port and ssl setting in more setting under the advanced tab.
