I've used Real Producer to make some sports hi-lite streaming videos for our school, but the quality for a 56K connection is so bad it isn't worth putting action video on our ISP's Realserver.
But, if I pick one of the compression choices for hi-speed access, most people can't access it because they have only 56K. Is there a way of setting up a RealMedia Video file so a person could just download the entire file, and watch the video AFTER the entire video has been saved to their disk? (in other words, forget about streaming). I use the RealProducer wizard to publish the page and RM file. If I right-click on the link and try to 'Save Target As', it just saves the web page itself, not the video file. www.cando.k12.nd.us/rugby.html is one of the pages if you want to check out what I am referring to. I realize that an FTP site might be the answer, but restrictions from our ISP prevent us from doing this. Last year I saved the videos as MPG video and people were able to download the entire file and then view it, byt our ISP doesn't want us doing it this way. |

I thought that when you set it up in RealProducer that you can use some option that allows the file to be downloaded.
Other than that, you might try to store the files somewhere like http://filesanywhere.com or http://www.freedrive.com Let us know what works for you. |
