I just upgraded to IE 5.5 and now when I check mail, this stupid MSN messenger crap keeps wanting me to install it. Anyone know how to get rid of it? I don't want a hotmail acct. if I did I would have signed up for 1. I don't need MSN messenger cuz I don't want it, if I wanted it, I would have signed up for it, get my drift?

But anyway, I just want to get rid of it, or at least stop it from starting up all the time. I haven't installed anything for it yet, but from reading the helps, it looks like you have to install it, then tell it to stop starting up everytime to disable it's checking. I would just as soon delete it altogether.

I had the same thing on mine. I had two E-mail accounts set up and it would only do it on the one. Installed Win ME and it went away, so I never did have time to figure that one out.

Just got rid of it the other day. It is automatically installed with the upgrade whether you wanted it or not. Just go into the Control Panel and go to add/remove programs and you will see MSN messenger listed. Click on MSN Messenger and hit remove and no more annoying messages!!
Piece o cake

Good Luck
