I recently set up myoutlook express to retrieve my hotmail as well. It works fine about half the time. Other times a password box pops up asking for my password (which is already filled in the box). I click okay and it comes right back. Sometimes I get the following error message;
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Authorization Required', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC32 Any idea what gives? |

My hotmail account does this all the time. I am not sure what causes it. I just check it again later and it works, which would, to me anyway, indicate a hotmail server problem and not a problem with outlook express.

That's what it is in all likelihood. The standard Windows response to an unknown network problem is "check your password and try again", even if it has nothing to do with your password at all.
