Help Setup News Grps w/MSN ISP and OutLook Express

Helllllp! How do I setup news server and news groups in my 'Outlook Express'? My ISP is MSN and I am finally expanding horizons looking to signup with some Linux news groups but to my embarrassment I don't know how to set it up. Tried just adding them but 'I keep getting told the server cld not be found'. I don't even know how New Group Appi in Outlook Express needs to be configured? msn.news.com and net.news.msn.com don't know if i have to use my ISP passwrd or what exactly the wizard is asking for. MSN support does not mention anything about adding or using news groups??? Alas, ignorance is not bliss - although it keeps alot of people in business. lolol Thanks All only one more yr of this MSN ISP!

Microsoft Network does not support news and mail being read via Outlook Express (or any other such program). It's apart of the .Net philosophy -- everything is web-based: Your e-mail via the passport system on either msn.com or hotmail.com and news via the front page to msn communities.

Enjoy your "experience" with msn -- used to work for them where it was actually a fun place to be -- been there as of late, sure has changed -- looks suprisingly like AOL.

Oh yeah, if you want news access, look at some of the pay or free Usenet servers. Just do a search for Usenet access -- you'll find something.

I use Supernews.com -- has every newsgroup you can think of, great retention of threads and no missing threads.

Craig

I did not switch to the web based email program. I still have Outlook Express email program set for Pop3 and smpt protocals - at this time I am only forced to use their upgrades to my dialup connection.on

That's my point -- MSN doesn't support Usenet-based news servers any longer. Only their community pages and the like. That's one of the reasons I left so many moons ago. You've got the servers correct (news.msn.com, msn.news.com, net.news.msn.com), but I don't know if they still work.
