Yahoo home page "line b problem parsing xml..."

My ISP is AT&T/Yahoo and I'm running IE7. For the last couple of days I have been getrting an error message when I log onto my home page. It looks like this:

I contacted AT& T tech support and they told me to clear my cache, reset zone levels to default in the Security tab etc. but the error window keeps popping up. Anyone have a clue as to what might be the cause? This is ONLY happening on the Yahoo home page.

Thanks

Do you have any toolbars or add-ons installed?

You mean Yahoo toolbars? No. No add-ons either. All Windows components are up to date.

I did a Google search and it looks like there a LOT people having this issue with Yahoo as their home page.

It's obviuosly something on that page that's causing it. It wouldn't bother me so much but I have to use it to access my email.

Do you have any IE add ons that you installed lately that might cause this?

Tool>Internet Options>Programs>Manage Add-Ons

I have not manually installed anything. I know Adobe Reader 8 always automatically update itself and I don't see a way to turn it off auto updates so I just manually halt the the update sometimes.

There are a lot of items listed in Manage add-ons, mostly Active X Control items. Anything in particular I should look for?

No, you don't have to use the Yahoo home page to access your mail - and you don't have to set Yahoo as your start page.

ALL you need to do is go to http://mail.yahoo.com and log in. Set your start page to whatever you want and put the mail page in your favorites or drag a shortcut out to somewhere.

yahoo homepage problem is server not pc

I have checked with AT&T, DELL, MY BROTHER THE "I.T." GUY. I have two laptops on my table. One has vista, the other xp. From every computer I've been on since Friday morning, the yahoo homepage displays that message. Change the homepage to ANY other webpage and it won't happen. I have been waiting for the postings myself to see if anyone knew anything. It has nothing to do with anything you could have done, no add-ons, no software, no spyware. AT&T just has to catch up. The customer service rep asked if I could explain what parsing is and maybe he could help. I have never heard something so stupid. I am waiting for the website to "heal thyself". Good Luck to us all!

Thank you for posting that! However, we ask that you use standard black fonts on these forums except to emphasize certain words. Bold italic purple fonts are difficult to read. Thank you!

Maybe changing web browsers to something like firefox would help as a work around to the problem!
