Angry internet explorer add ons

I went up north for and has someone watching the dogs and house while we were gone.
Now when I try and use explorer it says I have the add on turned off. They do not show up in the drop down, but I turned them on when I went into the tools. It still says they are not turned on. Here is the kicker. When I went into the office today, explorer was working fine. This after noon it now says add-ons are turned off. There are three of us that use the office comp.
Is there a virus or something out there that is doing this?
I also have firefox and that is working fine, but wife likes explorer and all I am hearing is complaining from here LOL.

Is this an office machine in your Home or a work enviroment with an IT Department that might have recently made changes?

Have you spoken with the other two users to see if they're making any changes?

explorer

my home comp is for personal use only, the other two people at the office on thaT comp only know how to turn it on and off. I am the one that fixes or changes things. I did a reload but not a remove on the explorer asnd it did not help.
