Getting red Xs instead of photos. Can't figure why.

I recently built my first computer with the help of this forum and it is working great except for one little thing. That is on some web sites I get those little red Xs instead of some of the photos. It seems that it is worse with sites that were created using FrontPage. But even a site like Netflix will have a problem with a few images showing as Xs. It's not happening everytime and the refresh (F5) doesn't usually clear up the missing graphics / images.
I've compared the Internet browser settings in my Toshiba laptop to my desktop browser and they are identical. The Toshiba doesn't have this issue.
I'm running Vista Home Premium and use IE7. My new computer uses a wired Ethernet connection for the Internet.
My computer has an Intel E6750 processor, Asus P5K-E MB, 2 GB of Corsair RAM, MSI NX8400GS video card.
Internet research shows others have this problem but I have not found a clear fix for this issue. I'm wondering if anyone has had this issue and found a fix.
Thanks!
KJ

I'm using ESET NOD32 version 3. I'm pretty impressed with this product.
Here's a silly question. Could my gigabit Ethernet connection be too fast to download all graphics / pics on some web sites? I never run into this with sites like CNN.

No, it shouldn't be affected by internet speed.

My guess is your security program is blocking the images, or a setting in internet explorer is. Try returning all settings to default.

Do you have any add-ons?

Have you tried deleting all temp internet files?

If you still can't get it, give us an example of a site that doesn't work for you.

I clicked the "Restore Advanced Settings" which I assume makes all the Advanced settings go to the original state. This didn't clear up the problem.
Regarding Add-ons, here is what shows: (all enabled)
Shockwave Flash Object
Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper
Research
Send to OneNote
SSVHelper Class
Sun Java Console

I had been using the Delete Temporary Internet files when closing feature in Advanced Settings but this didn't seem to make a difference with the problem.

Two websites that consistently have this problem are:
www.kiawahchats.net (misc. photos don't show)
www.netflix.com (star ratings under movies sometimes don't show)

Heres an update on this issue.
I used the more drastic "Reset Internet Explorer settings" feature in the Advanced tab but that did not resolve the problem of some images not showing.
What I've noticed is that when I hit a page with Xs instead of images what usually clears it up is going back to the previous web page and then clicking on the forward arrow. Then the Xs are replaced with the appropriate images.
If this problem has been encountered by some of our members too I sure would welcome some suggestions on what to check out.
I did enable all of the add-ons that are listed above. But before I did this I went to a problem web site and the Xs still showed so it looks like the add-ons are not causing the problem.
Thanks for any help you might offer!
