access denied error message
Hey everyone,
I'm new here, and this is actually my first post. Everytime I try to go to www.ebay.com i recieve an error message as follows: Access denied for user 'klandes_b2evolu'@'68.117.87.42' (using password: YES) I have tried resetting my internet options, I have cleaned my temp files & folders (i use CCleaner) and nothing seems to make this go away! I have tried going to half.com and then navigating back to ebay through a different link, but that does not work either, I still recieve the same message. For some reason, it's only when I try to go to ebay. I am running Microsoft IE version 7 with windows XP service pack 2. |

Chances are, your employer has blocked that site. People here at PC Mech will not tell you how to get around the block.
You may want to talk to your Sys Admin to see if they can unblock it for you. I wouldn't count on them unblocking it for you though. |

How are you connecting at work, cable, DSL?
Are you connecting through a router? Does your work have any kind of web filter installed? Is 'klandes_b2evolu' your computer name or username? Look in your hosts file and see if there is something in it redirecting Ebay.com to say your local computer. Open notepad and browse to /systems32/etc/drivers folder. It looks like it is trying to connect to a MySQL server and being denied. Are you running MySQL locally?

we use cable internet services, and we have a router.
the name showing up in the error message is not one of our computers or users, that is why this is so confusing to me! I don't believe we are using any web filters. we are using avg free edition for virus protection and also avg spyware. I checked in the system32/drivers/etc directory with notepad and there's nothing in there redirecting the computer locally. I'm not sure what SLQ is, so I don't think we're running that locally. |

I am new here also and know almost nothing about computers but for many months now I can not log onto ebay. Then this morning when i tried to log on to Bank of America for the first time I got the same message redleopardette got, Access denied for user 'klandes_b2evolu'@'71.224.150.221' (using password: YES). I get the same message for ebay this morning, it used to be "Internet Explorer can not display the webpage" or something like that.
There are many other ramdom sites that have denied access throughout my surfing, help. I have read many posts over the past few months and this is the first time i am replying because I am feed up!!! I have tried all the techniques you tech guys talk about to fix the problem. malware, spyware, restoring, dell support, deleting some autoupdates that may have brought viruses. what the f*$k is wrong with my PC???? what can I do?????? Just give me one simple answer to fix this and I will be happy |
