Safari question

This may belong in the Mac section, so please move if necessary.

Often times Safari will either take awhile to pick up a wifi signal after my Macbook has been closed and asleep then reopened. Sometimes it won't find a signal at all until you fully quit the program then reopen it. The Macbook finds the network right away (you can tell by the symbol in the top right-hand corner), but Safari seems to have some issues. Closing and reopening the program always seems to fix it though.

I have the latest version installed with all the updates. This has occurred in every version I've used since I bought the laptop at Christmas, and my friends have complained about it as well.

Any ideas as to why it does this?

Sounds more like a network adaptor sleep issue.

But have you tested to see if it can access the network?
Wondering if you tested the network and then opened Safari if Safari would then work ok?

I'll check it, but how do I do that on a Mac?
