ftp server
I'm paying for a ftp server to host a couple websites
If I wanted to setup my own ftp server and use that for my website what would it take to do that. Is there more to it then just pointing/forwarding the dns to the new ftp server/computer and setting up the actual ftp server so I can upload files (website) to it? The one I'm usiing now, and paying for through inreach is a linux server, could I just get a cheap linux distro and set it up as a ftp server? |

Your ISP may not allow hosted servers.
You won't get guaranteed uptime since when your power goes out, you're up the creek.

If you are hosting domains/websites, keep paying for a host. It's a lot less hassles and quality hosting is very cheap these days.
