AOL Conversion or Export
I have a friend who has asked me to help him switch his email from AOL to MS Outlook. He does NOT have AOL installed on his computer but accesses his AOL email thru the AOL Internet site (similar to hotmail/yahoo). All of his contacts (email addresses, etc.) are on the AOL site-is there any way to export that information? Or-if we install AOL software on his computer will the info from AOL's site export to his computer? I know there are software programs (epreserver for one) that will move AOL info to Outlook but the info has to be on the computer-I think!

Correct - the address book has to be on the computer for ePreserver and other similar apps to work. In order to get the info onto the computer, I believe he would still have to be a paying member, not just one with a free e-mail account. Logic tells me that he would have to be able to log in to AOL with the software to establish the connection.
