Problem with TCP/IP configuration.

I have a question about the TCP/IP configuration problem that I have been facing.

I have some computers connected to a switch and that switch is connected to nomidx router via wired connection and the WAN interface of that router
is connected to internet.

All these computers connected to a nomidx router are accessing internet and they all get there TCP/IP configurations dynamically.

Sometimes it happens that 1 of these computers doesnot get a valid IP address from the DHCP Server of the ISP. When I repair the local area connection on the computer, it gives me an error messege :"windows couldnot finish repairing the problem"

We do get this error messege when our computer is not able to communicate with the DHCP Server of the ISP?

Can this problem occur if there is something wrong with the port of the switch with which the computer is connected? Since all these computers are connected to the nomadix router via this switch and if any port of the switch is having problem than definitely the computer connected to that port would not be able to communicate with the DHCP Server of ISP and thats why wouldnot be able to get the TCP/IP configurations dynamically.

My other question is that can this problem occur because of the TCP/IP settings configured statically?

That is impossible. The router assigns IP addresses to each computer using DHCP. Routers use network address translation to share one IP address assigned by the ISP to multiple computers on the LAN. If you are assigning static IP's to your computers, they must be in the router's internal subnet and outside its DHCP scope. You will use the router's address for default gateway and EITHER the router's address OR the ISP's DNS addresses for DNS.

Check the local lease time in your router settings.
