IE 7 Keeps Shutting Down

IE 7 keeps shutting down on me. Firefox works OK. As I surf, I keep getting messages that IE has encountered a problem and must shut down. So it does. Anyone else with this problem?

I did and I had lots of missing plug-in's so I switched to firefox and have haven't looked back. No problems. I do have an question what os and service pack are you using. I installed XPsp3 and thats when my problems started.

A few days ago, I had a problem where IE would just sort of freeze and lock up, and then I was forced to just close it losing all my tabs.

I ended up closing all IE windows, and then running all my anti-spyware and anti-virus scans after I ran ccleaner.

Haven't had a problem since. It was weird though, cause it lasted for about two days.

XP Pro SP2. Latest updates EXCEPT SP3. I just have to get used to the type face of Firefox. Other than that, FF has worked. Maybe time to wean off IE.

Did you install any new application or software before you started to have this problem?
Try scanning your comuter with any anti-virus or anti-spyware?

Ray. I built another machine for myself back in December, after a considerable amount of teasing from glc and thefultonhow over the motherboard, Panama Red sat by me and held my hand while I got the troublesome beast up and running.
This motherboard was very picky over the proccessor and memory that it would use, after getting it running it would crash completely as soon as I installed SP2, eventually after a lot of trial and error I installed the AGP port drivers off the next model up motherboard and the machine has been running fine ever since. (including installing SP3)
The only problem I have is that IE7 keeps crashing on me,. I have noticed that it usually crashes when I am reading the news or something and there is a video clip running, it also crashes now and again on YouTube. I am convinced it is a memory fault, (2.25gig of ddr) even though I bought memory that was in the good list for the motherboard I still think it's not compatible, there is actually a funny quirk with the memory but thats another story.
How many sticks of memory have you got in that machine?
Can you take one out and run memtest on the individual sticks?

This thing has started recently. As I said, FF3 seems to be working just fine.
