phpBB

Im completely new to the whole phpBB thing. My hosting service supports php so I know I should be able to install phpBB. I unpack the file and upload the files needed to the server and when I point my browser to the install folder, my browser becomes blank. Am I doing something wrong?

There's much more to phpbb than merely php (this is a good start. I'm assuming you've read the documentation on how to get the installation going?

Have you checked your hosting server to see if they've got Fantastico? It's a one step installation for a lot of the most commonly used packages.

the documentation for phpBB just says to upload and install. i'm assuming they assume that you should have everything set up already... i'm using godaddy for hosting and im pretty sure they don't have Fantastico.
