IE7 Problem

Ok I got up this morning and opened explorer and it won't respond...it just hangs there. There is no error page just a blank one and the hourglass is active.

First of all FireFox works fine and so does my internet connection. I am running Vista Home. I ran a Virus scan...nothing. I removed Quicktime because I had trouble with it in
the past ...nothing. I cleared my temp Internet files...nothing. I rebooted...nothing.
I have done nothing out of the ordinary. I have not added any software/hardware or made
any changes whatsoever.

This is the error message Vista is giving me. My question is.. If you were me, what would you do next to solve the problem?

Have you tried to do a system restore to a date before this started?

Only time I've had this problem, it went away after a while. Some sites caused it, and sometimes it just happened, and if I waited for IE to respond (took a while) then it would work normally again.

Ok thanks for the help. That actually worked. For some reason I thought you had to create your own system restore points, so I didn't think I had any. I also thought I would have to restore all my files and reinstall programs and I was trying to avoid the hassles. The problem still confuses but I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you for your help.

well here we go again. This time IE doesnt hang but isn't connecting at all. Meanwhile FireFox and even Chrome work fine. What drives me absolutely insane is that this piece of garbage stopped working immediately after I installed new Windows updates. I'm not really looking for help here just some place to vent my frustrations. I've had nothing but problems with IE7...everything from the ActiveX Control pop up insanity to pure incompetence like this. Looks like I should I try system restore and lose all my updates? Thanks Windows.
