How do I clear my browsing history in IE8 and FF

I can't believe I'm asking this question, but this is turning into a project. In Vista I went to CP>Network/Internet>Internet Options>Delete Temp Files/Cookies/History. Restarted IE8 and the history is still there. Same thing in FireFox. I went to Clear Private Data. Restarted...same ****. Am I missing something here??

Send a message via MSN to F.E.A.R.
a programme that might help to delete these files is CCleaner, it c0ompletely free and also allows you to free up nice amounts of space on vista and fix registry entrys.

In FF, tools > clear private data. Tick the boxes of the items you want deleted and hit ok.
In IE, tools > delete browsing history. Either hit the buttons of the items you want cleared out, or hit "delete all"

That doesn't seem to be working..which is the reason I'm posting . In IE 6,7 this is common sense....with 8 its becoming a nightmare. The only way to delete each site you vist....so that it doesent show up in the prompt...is to do so individually. You have to sit there and "X" out each site manually. I'm going to read some more about this. Apparently 8 has this "InPrivate Browsing" Feature. Maybe that can help me. BTW the FF issue is resolved.

Uninstall IE8 and wait till its final release. You have to expect issues with beta software. You should also make a bug report.
