Costco web site freezes computer
Whenever I visit the Costco web site it locks up my computer. It says it is done, but the bar remains blue and most content fails to load. Even after five minutes it does not work. I have no control over the site and have to use task manager to close the browser.
I have successfully been to the Costco site many times on this computer. I don't remember anything new that I've put on this machine that could cause this situation. This has been happening for about two weeks. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? You help is appreciated.

What browser are you using?
Have you tried a different one? I have run across sites that just seem to have problems with certain browsers, but they usually fix it quickly.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Internet Explorer v.7. I've not used another browser. Whay would it work for a while and then all of a sudden not work?

There could be a problem on the page, or they could have flash or java on it that is causing problems.
I just checked the site, and it doesn't seem to have anything on it like that. Have you tried a system restore? |

Rather than do a system restore, I decided to download and install Firefox and I am now able to go to the Costco page with no problems. Firefox said I should install the Flash player add-in to fully view web pages, which I did.
Since I'm now able to view the Costco page, does this tell me that there are settings on Explorer that need to be changed? I've heard good things about Firefox. My pages seem to load faster. Amazon.com pages that used to go through several "layers" of loading, including trying to load "about: blank" several times, load significantly faster. Are there any further ideas as to why the Costco page freezes in Explorer? Thanks for the input. |

There most likely is a setting on your ie7 that is not playing nicely.
Try restoring all settings to default. |
