what is a SSL connection?
I am using Windows live mail and trying to send some pictures I made to my wife's computer which is 5 feet away from mine. I also was sending the same pictures to about 10 other people at the same time. I did this yesterday.
BTW I have been sending pictures using Outlook Express since 1998 with no problems. I am now using Windows Live Mail which I went to when Microsoft said it was an upgrade from Outlook Express. When I tried to send the pictures I got an error message "The server does no support a SSL connection" What the heck is that all about? Then it mentioned g mail in the same error message. I am using XP Home SP3 with Verizon FIOS as an ISP. (fiber) |

Gmail uses SSL. Whatever SMTP server you are using apparently doesn't. Review your SMTP server settings for the mail service you are using, whether it's Verizon or Hotmail or whatever.

To be specific, SSL is Secure Socket Layer, but just follow glc's advice.
