Annoying errors on some sites

About a month ago this problem cropped up on my main desktop PC (signature). It does not happen on my laptop or my older XP machine.

When I go to certain websites using Maxthon or IE7 I get the following error:

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...rizonError.jpg

It does not happen in Firefox 3. Verizon is just one example. Photobucket also does the same thing. Sometimes that error shows up times 3 or more. clicking OK or pressing enter makes it go away and the sites seem to function normally except for the fact that every page I go to on the website brings up the same message and I have to keep clicking OK.

My system is fully updated. I have cleared all cache and temp files (does that every time I close Maxthon). I have done spyware and virus scans. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

On a side note. Since I am snowed in, need a new phone, and am eligible for an upgrade I thought it would be a great time to order a Blackberry Storm. However, I cannot get to the checkout screen on the Verizon website. It just sits there with a blank white page loading indefinitely. Anyone else having problems with the Verizon website? This happens on my laptop as well.

Anyone? This problem seems to be becoming more pervasive and it is making my desktop very unappealing for web browsing.

By the way, I was finally able to get my Verizon order through and the free shipping was FedEx Priority overnight.

This is probably a long shot, but do you have java enabled? And if so, are you sure it's working right and not broken? Because I loaded that same page that you linked the image to above, and it loaded fine (using Maxthon and IE7). Only difference is I'm on XP and you're using Vista.....but when the page loaded, I looked at the source code and that file giving the error is referenced inside Script tags, so I thought maybe if something was wrong with your java or it was turned off, that might be it. Like I said, long shot, but it's all I can come up with (Googling didn't help diddly ).

EDIT: Is your laptop XP as well, like your older machine that does work? Might be something with Vista's protected mode crap not liking the permissions of the site. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply Juppy. My laptop is also running Vista. I will check and make sure that Java is fully updated and see what happens.
