Web Server
I'm looking for a small web server. Any really small and secure portable web server that i can run without having to install? I've seen maybe... but there are many. I don't know what to go with.
Thanks |

I use XAMPP for development, but it looks like it can also be portable. Note that XAMPP should not be used as a live webserver out of the box..it needs to be locked down (you can visit the XAMPP website for a guide) I also found this, which also looks promising http://www.ghacks.net/2008/12/28/portable-web-server/ What were you planning on using this portable webserver for?

Here is a goodlist of web servers to try. I will also second Force for XAMPP. Its great for quick offline website prototyping and presenting it to an audience quickly. There are a couple linux distros that use xampp and allow you to create a bootable cd/dvd with your website loaded to show it to people. Last edited by dragonxx4; 02-21-2009 at 11:49 PM. |
